German Shepherd Dog Ch Stone Ridge WHOL STOP The Rain, (call name Rain), bred and owned by Ron and Lisa Webb, of Stone Ridge German Shepherds, earned a Best of Opposite Sex win at Madison Square Garden on Monday February 15, 2010 during breed judging.

Rain is a top winning dog with Multiple Best in Specialty Show and Multiple Group Wins.  Monday’s win made his parents proud.  “There were eight dogs in the ring and for Rain to take this Best of Opposite Sex win at the Garden is really an honor,” said Ron.  Lisa is equally as proud.  “Rain is beautifully put together and has the effortless, smooth and rhythmic movement called for in the breed standard,” said Lisa, adding.  “He has been a top placer and we feel he has a long and illustrious show career ahead of him.”  The German Shepherd Dog is part of the Herding Group.

Long considered the epitome of dog shows in the United States, the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is held annually at Madison Square Gardens in New York City.  The two day event has breed judging taking place during the day with the winners of each breed going on to try to win their respective Groups during the evening’s televised Group judging.

How to Set Up Member Practice Nights On Fridays

NOTE 1: This is open to MDKC members only - free to those who worked the show and 5.00 per member per night for those who did not work the show.

 1. If INTERESTED MEMBERS wish to practice on Friday night, they must contact the Chair of the Committee, KC Combs.  The practice can not be set up any other way or through anyone else.

 2. Once a date has been approved by KC, it MUST be sent out to all members via email through the Secretary, Allison Edwards, who will also add it to the "Bulletin Board" on the web site.

 3. If KC is not available to monitor the session an alternate person may be assigned who is willing to take responsibility for set up and lock up. That person must be someone who both, has keys, and has been approved to have keys to the building: Vic & Sue Guilmino, Allison Edwards, Ron Webb, Rebecca, Renee, and Kyle.

NOTE 2: Friday night may be moved to Saturdays when the January obedience class starts. Once the Friday night obedience starts Renee has agreed to have the outside ring open and will take charge of it while her class is going on.

NOTE 3: Sanctions will be taken if these rules are not followed.

*Bring in Photos, brags, etc and Sue Layos will incorporate them into our club Bulletin Boards

▪All equipment can be used by any member of MDKC during member practice sessions only. The rules are simple: If you use it-put it back when you are finished. The only exception to this: if you are returning in the morning for a second day of use you do not have to put the equipment away immediately. Do not leave equipment out for more than a single overnight period. It is suggested, however, that this expensive equipment is put away every time it is used.

▪If you place any signs on the walls or doors, etc. Please remove the tape when removing the signs.
